Gauri is a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a special interest in liver cancer, liver fibrosis, and advanced liver disease. She completed her medical degree with honors at the University of Tasmania before basic physician training at the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne. She completed a Ph.D. evaluating outcomes of trans-arterial chemotherapy in the management of liver cancer. Gauri has presented at national and international conferences and also written in journal publications.  

Gauri was awarded a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2015 after advanced training in Gastroenterology at the Royal Hobart Hospital and at Monash Health. She has a public appointment at Monash Health as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist.
